We use a digital press which in essence is similar to an inkjet printer you have at home - just on an industrial scale.
All monitors are different, and show colours differently, We have made sure that the difference between the colours is accurately reflected, but we cannot guarantee that the colour you see will be the same as the real life colour. It depends on your individual computer settings (brightness, contrast etc).
The artwork is automatically generated from the design you provide, so the sizing is decided by you. We do it exactly as you design, and don't alter it in any way. Do note that the top you design on is being worn, so the design area available is the normal visible area when worn. It would be very unusual to want text or images going round the side of the shirt.
Images onto garments can be printed up to A3 in size or 1650 width pixels by 2400 pixels height. A3 is the maximum any design will be printed to - though this depends on the size of the garment. For example, the maximum print area on an apron is about A3 but it is much smaller on a ladies t-shirt as the garment is much smaller (around A4)
We print the image exactly as you give it to us. If you have uploaded a high-quality image then it will print well. An image of 1650 x 2400 pixels should print fine up to A3 in size. (This information is contained within the properties of the image.) If you enlarge an image of low quality, with fewer than 600 x 600 pixels, then it will appear pixelated when printed out, even though it may look fine when placed on the shirt on your screen. Artwork is printed automatically - it will not be checked.
If you upload an image without a background, it will appear on your shirt with a white box around it. If you do not wish to have a background upload an image with a transparent background - such as a PNG.
A PNG is a type of image format similar to JPEG. It offers more or less the same type of quality but also allows for an alpha channel, providing transparency options that are not available in any other common image format. Meaning if you have an company logo for example; and you wish to have this printed on a blue T-Shirt with no background you would need to save the image out as a PNG. Otherwise this image would appear with a white background which could be detrimental to the overall design.
A JPEG image is probably one of the most common image formats available. We would recommend using JPEGs for designs with background, for example it would be best to use this format if you were to upload a photograph.
There are many different image editing applications available either free to download or high end packages which you buy off the shelf. Examples of image editing software include; Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Elements or a free to download application called Gimp. These are just suggestions and there are many more such applications available.
Any image you upload you must have permission to use. Printed Wardrobe accept no responsibility for copyright infringement.
When you save a design it is saved to your user account. It is completely your choice if you make this design public - the only bonus is if you make it public and somebody uses your design, you in turn will earn a commission if they go on to purchase the garment.
Every time somebody uses your design in full or as part of a design you will earn 10% commission of the total selling cost. This will be paid into a pay pal account when you have accrued over £20 in commission. You can register for a PayPal account by visiting their website.
No - when you have saved a design it is saved to your own personal user account. You have the option to save the design and come back another day to edit it or if you choose buy at a later date.
We use Paypal - but you do not have to set up an account you can use the quick pay method on the transaction screen. We would recommend that you register for an account if you are planning to sell your designs to other users as this is the only way we make commission payments.
